Special rules for playing the game
A player who will break the pyramid with two types of balls - striped and plain. The first user to drive the ball into the pocket determines the type of balls for both opponents. Participants must drive only their balls, otherwise a point is counted towards the opponent. The last ball to be scored must be black. To score the “eight” in any other interval of the match is tantamount to losing, so you should be extremely careful. A certain time is allocated for the execution of the move in 8 Ball Pool, the indicator of which is displayed near the nickname on the top panel.
Addictive gameplay
You should not hesitate, because if you don’t complete the hit in the allotted time, the course automatically switches to the enemy. In the mobile version of this wonderful game, some points have been changed. So, here there is the concept of "ordering a pocket" when a player designates a hole in which he is going to put a ball. In the most difficult tournaments, there is no drawing of the trajectory of the ball. Management in the application is thought out and understandable, you can get used to it literally from the first minutes of the game. The direction for the strike is set by touching the screen, and the strike itself is carried out using a special indicator in the lower left corner of the screen. In recent versions, developers have added the ability to twist the ball, which experienced players will appreciate.
Setup
Setup is is pretty standard as Android apps go: simply download from the Play Store. Upon opening the app, you can log in several different ways; nothing unusual. You can log in as a guest, via your Google account, or via your Facebook account (more on the FB option later).
Now we’re ready to hit some balls! If you’re anything like me, you’ll dive right into the 1-on-1 mode, pairing up a random stranger to test your mettle. I am not going to delve into the rules of pool here; if you’re still reading this I’m assuming you know you’re way around a table.
Before you play you’ll be prompted to bet a certain amount of your money, so you have some skin in the game as you go against your opponent.
Final Words
There isn’t a whole lot to complain about here. Game play on a phone-sized device can be tricky as shooting from the edge of the table gets tedious. Trying to position the cue stick from the edge isn’t always easy.
The app does have its share of ads and popups and includes popups which appear in your notification bar, too. But, to me, these are admittedly small problems, compared to the price you pay to play.
Overall I can only recommend 8 Ball Pool for your quick pool/billiards fix and not much more. Give it a try and tell us what you think!
